Revamping Dining Room Table-ideas?
I am doing my dining room in a movie star/hollywood theme. I am doing it in black, golds, and whites. I have tan walls, and I am not painting any walls big time (small dining room) I may do like a top border possibly with some words.
My decorations for the walls are a film strip thing with pictures in it, and old movie posters.
Heres the problem:
I have a small round dining room table ( made out of wood, with wicker roping on the seats.)
I am trying to think of something cool to do with the table paint wise. I was thinking of painting it black with stars resembling the walk of fame thing.
Any ideas??
Captsnuf, that is a GREAT idea! The star lazy susan is a fantastic idea...as well as the painted on placemats in movie themes! I just might try that :)
Sunny, thanks for your comment. I definitely will use red. My living room is black,gold and red, so my dining room is basically going to be the same colors since they are close to each other. I live in an apartment, so everything sort of runs together besides my room! I will most definitely send pictures. :)

i have re-finised alot of tables.... one very popular theme is painted on place matts with theme of choice in each one (in your case black matts with gold stars) I'd probably do film/movie themed lazy suzanne in the center also...not one of those cheezy plastic ones look for a nice wood one that can be redone with a nice ebony stain and paint on a large gold star.
It might look nice painted black with the distressed wood look. And instead of painting stars,you my want to consider using some place mats in black and white. Or look around there are so many nice place mats with different themes. I am sure you could find something to match your film strip border.
You may also want to consider using some red along with this since it is the "In Color" You could paint white and/or red stripes with a few white stars on the table. Or use red on the cushions of the chairs. I have a black and white kitchen too and a designer suggest using some red and it really worked well together and kept if from looking too boring with just the black and white I had. Or add a accent piece in red. Anything to give it some color. Also, black place mats would look nice.
