how to bring life back to wicker furniture?
My sister has a wicker table and chair set. It is very weathered looking. I told her to use the same stuff you would use to re-do wood furniture. Does anyone know if that is ok or is there something else she should use?

i think they sell a special stain for wicker..
You can use Murphy's Oil Soap (at any hardware store or many grocery stores in the cleaners aisle) to wash the wicker furniture and then either paint it, stain it, or rub it down with a good oil to bring it back and look good. That's what I do to my wicker pieces and some are almost 100 years old. Keep it out of direct sun because that will make it look faded quickly and feel stiff and splintery.
If the wicker is still strong enough, that is it hasn't started breaking down due to sun and moisture or us fat people sitting on it.......it can be spray painted or spray stained. I say spray because it's very hard to get deep enought into the furniture to make it look nice again. make sure it's washed first and completely dry. Shouldn't paint dirt, doesn't stick. Final coating can go over the finished piece to add a clear coat protection.
